Abstract: |
The application of the precise time-integration method in the flutter stability analysis of suspension bridges is studied. Firstly, the bridge structure is combined with wind as a whole system, and the system's state-space equation about the generalized coordinates of modes is assembled. Then, the time-history of the state-space vector is computed by the precise time-integration method. According to the logarithmic decrement of the time-history of the state-space vector, the stability of the system is estimate. Finally, the British Severn Bridge is analyzed to confirm the method. |
