A pre-processing method for FEM parallel computation is studied. The super-elements information of each substructure is only sent to each processor, then each substructure can be plotted and the element numbering of each substructure can be optimized in parallel automatically, the maximal frontwidth and the root-mean-square frontwidth are minimized. Examples show the method can greatly reduce the preprocessing time of FEM parallel computation.
