The dynamic formulations and characteristics of intelligent structures with piezoelectric materials as sensors and actuators are discussed in this paper. The mode shapes and associated voltage distributions of the plate simply supported are obtained. The change of various frequencies with feedback gain's change is analyzed in detail. The results play a great role in the optimal designs and vibration control of intelligent structures.
