Structural parameter identification is studied using artificial neural network and optimization method. A two\|story steel frame and Mawan tower of Tsingma Bridge in Hong Kong are analyzed at the same time. The results show that these two methods are viable in solving the practical problems of parameter identification. Their precision can meet engineering requirements completely. At last, two methods are compared.
