Abstract: |
A numerical method for determination of multiple stress singularity orders and corresponding stress intensity coefficients is presented in this paper, by the example of plane problems with two stress singularity orders, based on the numerical solutions obtained by common numerical procedures such as FEM and BEM. A particular model of bonded dissimilar materials with interface edges in the plane strain problem is analyzed by BEM to verify the efficiency of this method. The numerical results show that all of the stress singularity orders at an interface edge can be determined precisely by this method. It is also found that there is a good linearity for the extrapolation method to determine the corresponding stress intensity coefficients. |
