| Theoretic foundation of the virtual boundary element is explored by investigating two\|dimensional potential problems in this paper. Based on the theoretic analysis, a new method for choosing distance between the real boundary with the virtual boundary is presented. Its character lies in selecting the distance in terms of boundary discretization. |
