Abstract:
Shear wall has been widely used in reinforced concrete building structures. Generally, the contribution of bending stiffness out of plane in shear wall is neglected in engineering analysis. The authors studied the contribution of bending stiffness in shear wall upon deflection and natural frequency of the whole structure by one kind of shear wall model, which has in\|plane stiffness and bending stiffness out of plane simultaneously. The study shows that the contribution of bending stiffness in shear wall is related to coupling degree of shear wall in structure, and whether rigid diaphragm assumption is adopted. In large\|scale and complicated shear wall structure, the effect of bending stiffness in shear wall is not negligible.
