Abstract:
      In this paper, dynamic design of symmetric structures is considered as an inverse generalized eigenvalue problem. The structure dynamic performance indices are treated as a criterion to design structures. By constructing equivalent nonlinear equations, the design parameters can be solved using Newton's method so that the designed structures satisfy the specified dynamic performance. The numerical example shows the benefit of the presented methodology.
