Abstract:
      The determination of main cable shape is a key problem in the process of design and constructional unclosed loop control of long span suspension bridge. By means of fictitious beam method for calculating of flexible cable, nonlinear equations to determine main cable shape of longspan suspension bridge is derived. Calculating process of iteration for cable shape is developed. The calculating results show that the method developed in this paper has a characteristic of clear mechanism concept, high calculating speed and accuracy.
