This paper points that primary factor to make the sided effect of explosive clad plate is explosion carefaction wave on the sides of plate and tensile of clad plate in an opposite direction of impact. A technigue of explosinve welding of clad plate with non equal area is developped. By supersonic flaw detecting, the sided effect of explosive clad plate becomes reduce marked, that engineering need was satisfied.
