Abstract:
      A nonlinear complementarity method with the contact forces as primary unknowns is presented for three dimensional elastic contact problems with coulomb friction, the convergence is guaranteed in theory. None of beforhand lineerazaation approximations on Coulombian friction law is adopted and none of additional variables is introduced, so that the solutions accuratey satisty the nonlinear contact conditions and the storage consumed is tittle. Numerical experiments lend support to the theoretical analysis and suggest that the method is highly efficient, rel able and promissing.
