Abstract:
      The present work is aimed at the finite element implementation of the viscoplastic softening damage model for strain softening materials.The stiffness matrix of the finite element system equations is evaluated by a damaged elastic matrix for pre critical hardening response,and the local damaged softening matrix for post critical softening response.The somputational techniques for tracing numerically the softening path is studied with the arc length method,Four examples are chosen to show the numerical results of the deformation response with damage and softening.
