Abstract:
      Numerical simulations of cylindrically bending of metal strips are performed using large deformation elasto-plastic finite element method. The results are compared with those from experiments. Updated Lagrangian formulations and hyperelastic-plastic constitutive relations based on elasto-plastic multiplictive decomposition of the deformation gradient tensor are given first of all. Penalty method is used in dealing with contact and frictions. Analyses of the numerical results draw some conclusions which are valuble to engineering design of strip bending formations.
