Abstract: |
Numerical method for seismic wave propagation in laterally inhomogeneous attenuating medium is studied in complex frequency domain here. A generalized propagation matrix method for simulating seismic wave proragation in inhomogeneous attenuating medium is put forward by using mixed variable viscoelastic wave equations and matrix exponential solutions of system of linear ordinary differential equations. The method presented can apply to all kinds of viscoelastic model, by which arbitrary sources and various types of body waves and surface waves can be simulated. The numerical results show its good accuracy. |
