Abstract:
      The nonlinear beam and cable element theory for computing the light mast structures ispresented in this paper.The nonlinear effects of cable elements on the mast forces and thebending instability influence under the axial press of the mast are considered in the theory.The Newton-Raphson metliod is used in the numerical iteration,If the iteration is conver-gent when the design loads are applied on, the mast does not develop the bending instabilityin two principal directions. The design computing difficulties in the strength,the overall andlayer stability and stiffness are overcome.
