A new technique of modal synthesis for dynamic analysis of structures is presented inthis paper. Applying the technique, the structure is divided into two kinds of substructure,free-interface substructures and fixed-interface substructures. There are not direct couplinginterfaces between these substructures. However, the substructures are coupled through thelink area. Two coupling ways are suggested, including the single compatibility for displace-ment and the double compatibilities for displacement and force on interfaces. The bettercomputing resuIts can be achieved by considering the effect of the truncated higher modes ofthe free-interface substructures. |
