Abstract:
      Contact stress distributions of internal spur gears during the whole engagement periodare evaluated in this paper by using the approach of local mesh refinement of 3-D elastic con-tact problem and finite element-mathematical programming tecnnique.The contact stresses ofthe gears acted by static load are compared with those by dynamic load.Variable tendency ofcontact stresses on internal spur gears during the whole engagement period are revealed.Thisestablishes the basis of contact strength and reliability studies of internal spur gears.
