Abstract:
      his paper studies a method for analyzhg the contact-impact dynamic response prob-lems of structures under the eactions of time-ependent loads. The contact-impact incldesthe impact between structure and rigid support and that between two structures.The im-pulse velocity is supposed to be a middle or low one and the local failure is not considered inanalysis. The key of this method is that a time-dependent impact reacting force function inthe impact procedure is presented.And the impact reacting force function is formulated byusing the following conditions,laws and theorem:l.relation of the impact force and thesmall deformation between the impacted bodies;2.the law of energy conservation; 3.thelaw of momentum conservatiOn;4.impulse theorem;5.the coefficient of resilience express-ing the energy dissipation. Some examples are given in the end of this paper,The result of the first example is com-pared with that of the analytical solution ,and the cocncidence between two resuIts exceedsour expectheions. As for the other numerical resuIts,though there is no any analytical solu-tion to be used to compare with each other,they are also reasonable through theoritical anal-ysis. The central difference scheme of step by step integration method is adopted to solvethese problems and by using smaller and smaller step length of integration in the impact pro-cedure ideal resuIts are obtained.
