Abstract:
      When quadratic isoparametric solid elements are used in the analysis of contact problems, one difficulty in establishing the contact criteria is that nodal lumped contact forces on the actual contact surfaces have different signs. In this paper,is presented the technique of calculating the nodal values of the distributed contact forces on the contact surface from the nodal lumped contact forces. And hence the contact criteria with the nodal values of the distributed contact forces are established easily. The criteria are applied successfully to the elastic solid contact problems in engineering,and one example is given here.
