In this paper the sequential quadratic program method is used the optimal design of section of hollow gravity dam with an arch in the hollow. During the process of solving, move limit and constraint screening technique are adopted. The examples of calculation show that the optimal program of this paper converges both rapidly and stably, and the results is reliale.
