Abstract:
      This paper presents an approach to optimal design of a curved isoparametric shell elements with eight nodes and total of 40 freedoms. This approach is based on the transformation of non-linear programming into a sequence of quadratic programming (SQP). The DDDU(W) with a curved isoparametric shell elements is developed. Numerical results show that the method is efficient.
