| Automatic weapon systems with precomprcssed ring springs are considered and idealized in this paper. Partitioning and piecewise solution techniques are proposed for the analysis of state and design sensitivities of the systems. Optimal design problem for minimization of maximum recoil forces is established and solved by the improved SLP algorithm. Numerical results for an automatic gun under burst firing are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the present approaches. |
