Abstract:
      An extended FETM method, combined with dynamic condensation, Riccati transformation and substructure techniques, is proposed for obtaining forced vibration response of structures directly.This offers the advantages to overcome the numerical instabilities and reduce the computational time as well as storage requirements. The analytical procedure in this method for two-dimensional bending problems are described.Various numerical examples of these problems are presented to demonstrate the high efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.The results from these examples agree well with those obtained by the modal superposition method.
