Abstract:
      The cable-membrane element theory used to analyse the cable-stayed bridge is proposed in this paper. The concept of the cable-membrane element and its computing model is constructed, and the stiffness matrix of the cable-membrane element is derived. As an example, a steel cable-stayed bridge(144+360 + 144m) is computed using the method proposed. The bending moment influence surface and torque graph of the main beam is obtained, and the influence of the eccentricity of the anchored-joint of cable-beam to the main horizontal inertia axis of the cross section on the bending momentof main beam is also discussed.
